OUR STORY
The California Blockchain Advocacy Coalition (CBAC) is the first and only membership driven industry association committed to educating legislators and regulators about blockchain technology in the state of California. We advocate for, sponsor and organize outreach efforts for blockchain policy. We partner with blockchain policy experts and coalitions across the state and nation to drive a cohesive and effective message when it comes to the potential of Web3 and its applications.
We led the effort to pass the first two blockchain bills in California in 2018, and have helped shape the state’s blockchain policy since through proactive legislation, facilitating educational roundtables with elected officials, and working with our state regulatory agencies to ensure that regulations work for industry. We are a coalition focused on achievable, forward-thinking and high-impact advocacy work.

The Verifiable Credentials Policy Committee is a subcommittee of the Blockchain Advocacy Coalition. It is made up of a group of businesses and identity experts who will help develop policy proposals, support legislation and provide expert testimony and guidance to the state.
